About Us

Hi, I’m Aubrey — the potter, artist, and creative mess behind Morel Designs.

Funny enough, I didn’t grow up dreaming of becoming a potter. My pottery journey started in October 2021 after I bought a kiln at an auction completely on a whim. I had no idea at the time just how much that one spontaneous purchase would change my life.

I started teaching myself ceramics, experimenting, making plenty of mistakes, and falling more in love with clay along the way. Not long after, Morel Designs was born.

What started as a creative outlet has grown into something I never could have imagined. Today, I create handmade pottery from my studio in Cordell, Oklahoma, with a focus on pieces that are beautiful, functional, and meant to actually be used and loved. There’s something really special to me about knowing a mug I made might become part of someone’s morning coffee, sit on a family’s dinner table, or be given as a meaningful gift.

But Morel Designs has become about more than pottery.

At the heart of everything I create are the things that matter most to me: faith, family, creativity, and community. I’m a wife, a mom, and an artist who believes we were given our gifts for a reason. I want this little business of mine to be a place where creativity brings people together, encourages them to try something new, and maybe even reminds them to slow down and enjoy the imperfect, handmade things in life.

Every piece that leaves my studio has passed through my hands — from a lump of clay to something made to become part of your home. No two pieces are exactly alike, and I think that’s part of what makes handmade pottery so special.
